The painter Valerio Adami reminisces about Jacques Derrida as follows: "He loved Ribera's painting of a blind man touching a Greek sculpture, and the idea that one can attain a different kind of knowledge by closing one's eyes." In this documentary, the philosopher compares the gestures of draftsmen with those of the blind; the film was made on the occasion of the exhibition curated by Jacques Derrida "Memoirs of the Blind: the Self-Portrait and Other Ruins" (Musée du Louvre, October 1990 – January 1991).
