Scientific advisor(s): Vincent Pomarède et Jean-Luc Martinez

Synopsis: Consisting of more than two hundred masterpieces from all departments of the Louvre, La Galerie du Temps is the heart of the new Louvre-Lens Museum. This is the only place on earth where you can see in one area, a veritable river of works constituting both a wonderful book of knowledge and discovery, but also a succession of wonders. Presented in a spirit of cross and in chronological order, the works are telling the history of mankind, from the fourth century BC to the nineteenth European century through Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome, including the Islamic world.
