Léonard de Vinci

The Secret Life of Art series

Editor(s) of the series: Stan Neumann

Concept: Choose a great painter from those represented in the Louvre's collection, and remove that painter's works from the walls. Take them out of their frames, put them on easels at eye level in the same room. Invite curators, historians, restorers, and scientists from all over the world—the greatest specialists of the painter's work—and let them spend two days in the room with the paintings, leaving them free to study and talk... This series invites viewers to observe the debates and discussions of these scientists, art historians, and international experts, who react to the latest technical studies carried out by the French museums' research laboratory.
