Begun in 1248, completed in 1880, it's one of the largest churches in the world, a masterpiece of Gothic art, but also a building that embodies, through the succession of works projects and interruptions (one lasted more than three centuries), the whole history of Germany, a symbol of its culture through the centuries. Since the thirteenth century, it is called "the mother and mistress of all churches of Germany.
