Homer's description of the Greek world in the 8th century BC was long considered a purely mythological account. However, Schliemann's archaeological finds in 19th-century Greece and a photographic report of the Mediterranean by Victor Bérard (translator of the Odyssey) several decades later would seem to prove that the places described by Homer really exist. Jean Baronnet sets out on the track of Ulysses in his turn, to discover every stage of his epic voyage.
