The Forgotten Men of the Valley of the Kings

Director(s): Jérôme Prieur

Scientific advisor(s): Guillemette Andreu

Deir el-Medina, opposite Luxor, boasts the ruins of an Egyptian village from the time of the Pharaohs. This is where Kha, Sennedjem, Pashed, Nakhtamun, and Inerkhawi lived with their families over 3,000 years ago, during the New Kingdom. They were members of a privileged guild of craftsmen who built, painted, and sculpted the huge underground tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Queens. This documentary describes their work and their daily lives.
